Lauren is three months old and some

  • First, she turned 100 days old. We celebrated by eating a cake at church, Then her cousins from Arkansas came, can you tell her cousin Mallory is not happy with all the attention on Lauren? Then we took her to the OC Fair, but she slept through all of it. She also went to the beach for the first time with a hat I bought for her at Target for 2 dollars! We took a family picture with the in-laws that Bo gave strict dress codes for (women in white and men in brown)

two months old

Lauren is two months old now. She is starting to look like a little lady. People say she looks so much like Bo, but I think she's got my mannerisms

Being a mom

There are no words to describe motherhood. The little that I have experienced is a mixture of bliss, joy, uncertainties, out of control spins, and ultimately humbling, but such a good humbling. I guess in the midst of it, you stare into the eyes of this amazing, adorable baby and think "your fingers are so little, you were inside me? you smell so sweet." Lauren is already 1 month old.....she looks different already....

1 day old

she always sleeps with her arms in funny positions

I had to take this! After they were both fed....ha ha ha

1 month !

Funny and random moments:

1.  Juno (Great Movie)

2.  When I first told my kids I was pregnant, they said, "Oh we thought you were just a little bit chubby"

3. mom got be a pregnancy book from China on what not to pair with what when you eat. One of pair was parrot and penicillin

4. went to Bo's work party yesterday and J.P. Moreland was there. His wife said he did not know what Brie cheese was at first and thought the butter was brie and kept loading his cracker with butter instead of brie. Bo made buffalo wings and brought them. JP said "but i do know what buffalo wings are" I told him "ok, JP you can come over to my house then"

5. my students said my child is going to be sorely disciplined and given grammar homework upon birth. I said, "that's right, you better bow down cause you are all going to work for her someday"

6. I found out that after you give birth, you have a huge period and wear a long pad for weeks. Did not know this before

7. found out that you feed the baby per 3 hours and NOT 3 times a day only

8. Every moment with the women in my community is literally filled with belly laugh and hearty tears. What a blessing you guys are to me !

9. wanted to borrow a huge elephant stuffed animal from Kate for my breast feeding class cause it said to bring a life size teddy bear, she said she will give me her baby that she used for her nativity scene instead of a tree at Christmas. I will be nursing baby Jesus in a few weeks

10. taught the older kids sunday school last week and learned about forgiveness. I asked them to draw pictures of what they liked in their ideal room. Soren drew a gumball machine and a hot tub.

what has been happening with us

Let me remember some high lights of the past months.
First we went to DC to celebrate our 2nd year of marriage. But a bit before this, I found out that I was

It took me a while to post about this because it just seemed so vulnerable and private. But now that I am really far along, I don't really feel that way anymore.
Then we went off to DC to celebrate our 2nd year of marriage. We had a really good time and saw so many historical sites. I think we walked on average of 5 miles a day!

our hotel bathroom. For some reason, I have this thing about bathrooms....if they are nice and clean, then you know the rooms cannot be that far off.

Georgetown university! I felt like I wanted to go back to school, but Bo got to teach a class there when  nobody was looking!

He was brilliant!

Then we spent the most time here. We sat inside the Lincoln Memorial and read all of his speeches. He was a godly leader.

just for fun, here is a picture of my leg compared to that of a dinasours (how do you spell that?)

at this time, I was 1 month prego!!!!

And then, I was two months prego

on a CrossWay retreat playing a game.
This was when people thought I was just a little chubby on the belly

remember our first CrossWay retreat? So many memories. Now we have come so far, hard to believe, but that seemed so long ago

In between this, Bo got on a game show and won! He bought me my first semi professional camera, but I cannot or have not gotten use to downloading pics onto the computer yet with it. The rest of the pregnancy pics are there, but I took a picture of the first stage of the nursery that Bo painted the other day.

I love green.
